Development of Attitude Scale about the Lesson of the Teaching of Primary Reading and Writing

Abstract
The aim of this research is to build up a likert type attitude scale for the lesson of The Teaching of Primary Reading and Writing in which two important related skills are taught to children during the first grade in primary school. Primary school teachers get the knowledge in the Teaching Reading and Writing lesson in order to have the students acquire reading and writing skills. At this point, Teaching Reading and Writing lesson has great importance. Therefore, it was thought that developing a scale was necesary to determine the attitudes of the primary school teacher candidates towards the Teaching of Primary Reading and Writing lesson.The sample of research was the third grade students from the primary school education department in Mehmet Akif Ersoy University and 161 students were participated in the research . Development of the scale had following four stages: preparing the item pool, talking to experts, application and calculating the validity and reliability. At the end of the analysis, an attitude scale which is including 19 items was developed. Inner consistency coefficient of the three dimensions of scale was calculated with cronbach alpha (0.92)
