Examining the Effectiveness of Social Skills Training Program Based On Cognitive Process Approach among Inclusion Students with Autism

Abstract
The aim of this study was to examine the effectiveness of social skills training program based on cognitive process approach on “coping with humiliation” and “avoiding inappropriate touching” skills among inclusion students with autism. Participants were 9 students; 8 boys and 1 girl, with autism who are attending inclusion programs of primary schools, during the academic year of 2006-2007. The age of participants range between 10 to 13. In this study AB design was used. Each student received 2 sessions per week and total of 22 sessions till the end of the program. In order to analyze findings line charts analysis method was applied. Results reveal that social skills training program based on cognitive process approach on “coping with humiliation” and “avoid inappropriate touching” skills in students with autism was effective.
